My Japanese friends told me why they enjoy taking a trip to HK and Macau is one of the reasons. They said they could get a feeling of UK and Europe in a short journey to HK and Macau, instead of going for a long way to Europe. Most of all, they enjoy the Cantonese food in HK and Macau.

In fact, more glamous than Vegas and food much better than Vegas.
At least more Chinese food in Macau.
The revenue of casinos of Macau already surpasses Las Vegas though the no. of casinos of Macau is way below Las Vegas, because the betting (I learned that some casinos set the minimum of each bet at HK$10k) is very "heavy".
So Macau is a lucrative and financially efficient city.
In Vegas many people just go there for show and buffet and sopping and sleep(just like me and my friends).
Even when they play they can start with $1 US with many games.
Yes, we also did that but right now it's overwhelmed with professionals. :)
